Accounting Manager

Make your mark!!! Small publishing type company located in New York City has an opening for an accounting manager. This is a hands on position that will supervise 4 people and oversee general accounting, tax, inventory, treasury, risk and accounts payable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee month end close process, including related analysis of financial statements
• Cash flow management and reporting
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and city income tax requirements
• Key liaison with external governing bodies and advisors
• Provide leadership and mentoring to accounting team
• Review payroll and benefits for compliance with internal and external requirements
• Ad hoc projects

REQUIREMENTS:
• Degree in Accounting; MBA and/or CPA a plus
• 5+ years experience including supervising at least 2 people
• Strong managerial skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Must have experience with A/P, Payroll, G/L. Cost Accounting, Internal Controls, Sales Tax, P&L analysis, treasury and income tax
• Platinum and/or Hyperion a plus
• Excellent communication and computer skills
